A Corveira, Culleredo
In A Corveira housing project, Urban Planning put no restrictions to lay out free – standing buildings, within a plot with a rough topography, and huge height differences up to 17m, with a street running along the upper side.
Key points for the project were not to block views from the upper street, and to get at the same time the optimal views and sunlight for every dwelling.
The flats were set out with access through open aisles to the west, and with balconies facing the east and the views. Modulation and repetitive pattern were emphasized to simplify the building process, and the whole complex was articulated through the use of common spaces, and the roof as a common sun deck.
